Silva News objects are a separate product, an extension to Silva (that must be installed). The NewsArticle and AgendaItem objects only appear within a NewsSource (thus not in a ‘normal’ Silva publication).

News Source

A special Silva publication that offers NewsArticles and AgendaItems. The Source can be accessed by NewsFilters in other locations within a Silva site.

NewsArticle

A News item that appears as an individual page. By adjusting settings the Author can determine which period, which subjects, and for which audiences the Article should be presented.

AgendaItem

A News item for events. Includes date and location metadata, as well settings for subjects and audiences.

NewsFilter

To enable editors to channel newsitems on a site, all items are passed from NewsSource to NewsViewer through filters. On a filter you can choose which NewsSources you want to channel items for and filter the items on several criteria (as well as individually). Also NewsFilters can be set up to forward their items to other systems as an RSS stream (RSS version 0.91).

AgendaFilter

Agenda- & NewsViewer

Used to show news items on a Silva site. When setting up a newsviewer you can choose which news- or agendafilters it should use to retrieve the items, and how far back in time it should go. The items will then be automatically fetched via the filter for each page request.
